Mission & vision
What FFID’s Chetna programme sets out to do, and the future it’s working toward.
Our mission
To work alongside rural and marginalised communities in building sustainable, self-directed development across water, agriculture, health, education, livelihoods and governance — without creating dependency on outside aid.
In practice that means every programme starts with listening: a village water committee, a gram sabha discussion, a group of women deciding what a self-help group should actually do. FFID brings funding, technical expertise and patient facilitation; the community sets the direction.
Our vision
A future where every village has the resources, knowledge and confidence to shape its own development path, and where the institutions communities build — water committees, SHG federations, school management committees — keep working long after a project has formally closed.
We measure success less by what we hand over on the day a project ends, and more by what a community can still run, repair and expand five years later, without us.
